Las Cruces, NM – On this edition of PUENTES a la comunidad, bridges to the community, host Emily Guerra met with Irene Oliver-Lewis and David Chavez to bring awareness of the new annual “Mesquite District Fiesta: Shopping, Music, Food” on December 8th from 12 noon to 4 p.m.
The new Holiday event, sponsored by the Mesquite District Business Association and the Mesquite Historic Preservation Society, two organizations based in the original townsite of Las Cruces, and the newly designated Las Cruces Arts and Cultural District. From galleries to auto shops, more than 15 businesses will participate in The Mesquite District Fiesta which will highlight the diversity of businesses in the historic area while integrating the holiday season and the city’s cultural heritage. A variety of activities are free of charge and will include history tours, free shuttles, a mini-car show, a visit with Santa Claus, and music by the New World Drummers from 2-3 p.m. at Mesquite Street & East Court Avenue.
