The New Mexico Public Education Department (NMPED) issued a statewide closure of schools effective March 16. Students will be allowed to return to school Monday, April 6, 2020. The closure, according to state officials, is another effort to contain community spread of COVID-19, or Coronavirus.
Las Cruces Public Schools is working on a plan to provide grab-and-go meals to ensure there is no interruption in nutritional services to students and families that depend on them, with potential weekend meal service.
The effort to contain COVID-19 and the effect it has on our students, staff and families is a fluid situation. More information will be released as soon as it becomes available.
