Representative Angelica Rubio (D-Las Cruces) arrived at the Roundhouse at noon Saturday after her journey biking from Las Cruces to Santa Fe. Here is a statement from the New Mexico House Democrats:
Rep. Rubio was received in Santa Fe by Rep. Linda Trujillo (D-Santa Fe) and met with Representatives on both sides of the aisle during her journey, as well as constituents. Rep. Rubio rode her bike from Las Cruces to the Roundhouse to connect southern/rural NM communities to legislators & the legislative process.
“On this journey, I have learned so much,” said Rep. Rubio. “There are more things that unite us than divide us, and New Mexicans are the kindest people, hands down. People have fed us, welcomed us into their homes, and provided us with warm beds along the way. I’m so inspired by our state, and determined to take the opportunity this legislative session to create meaningful change for people across our great state,” she said.
Rubio launched her ride on January 5th in Las Cruces. Rubio made stops in Hatch, T or C with Rep. Rebecca Dow, San Antonio with Rep. Gail Armstrong, Belen with Rep.
