KRWG Public Media will broadcast a forum featuring the Republican candidates in New Mexico’s 2nd District Congressional race. Claire Chase, Yvette Herrell, and Chris Mathys participated in the forum, which was recorded on Tuesday. Anchor Fred Martino was in KRWG-TV studios and spoke with the candidates via video conference.
“KRWG Public Media is committed to providing the journalism necessary for an informed electorate. In addition to this forum, we are also broadcasting interviews with candidates in contested state senate districts,” said Martino, KRWG Director of Content.
The forum, which is approximately one-hour, airs on KRWG-TV Thursday at 7pm, Saturday at 5pm, and Sunday at 11am. It will also air on KRWG-FM at 1pm Friday. On Thursday, the video will be posted online at www.krwg.org for on-demand viewing.
The candidates respond to questions on a variety of issues, including the federal government’s response to COVID-19, gun safety legislation, healthcare, social security, immigration, and more. “Our format includes one-minute responses to focused questions. In addition, candidates are barred from mentioning their opponents in the answer. This keeps the forum focused on the issues and allows us to cover a wide variety of important topics,” said Martino.
