LAS CRUCES, NM – The Doña Ana County Clerk’s Office is announcing limited in-person services, beginning Thursday, March 19th and until further notice, in response to New Mexico Governor Lujan Grisham’s declaration of the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency and the new guidance from White House officials.
We ask that businesses with access to our online e-recording and filing portal use that service. Individuals who do not have access to the online portal who are needing to record documents may do so via mail or through one of the vendors with access.
Business registrations may be completed via mail, and we encourage those seeking to apply for a marriage license to postpone their application until further notice. Appointments for marriage licenses will only be accepted on a case by case basis.
Our Documents Online tool allows the public to research and request some documents from home:
(https://www.donaanacounty.org/clerk/docs). Title companies needing to perform in person research may also request to do so by appointment only. These requests will be assessed on a case by case basis.
Inquiries related to our Bureau of Elections department can be submitted by email at elections@donaanacounty.org.The completion of statutory tasks related to deadlines for the primary election will continue.
Completed election-related documents including voter registration forms or absentee applications may be returned to the County Clerk via a marked, secured, drop box located outside of the Clerk’s Office. To register, update or change your voter registration or to request an absentee ballot you may also visit NMVote.org.County information related to the primary election is available at www.dacelections.com.
“We are doing this as a precautionary measure not only for our staff, but for the general public,” said Doña Ana County Clerk Amanda López Askin. “We are in touch with leadership from our partnering entities and will provide updates as they become available.”
Although clients are encouraged to submit probate related applications via mail, the probate judge will continue accepting applications in sealed envelopes via a marked drop box outside of the Clerk’s Office. Judge Bustamante will continue performing consultations over the phone. After processing, follow-up documentation will be returned to the related parties via mail.
