Las Cruces firefighters extinguished a fire on the exterior balcony of an apartment Wednesday afternoon.
About 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7, Las Cruces fire and police were dispatched to the report of a fire at Villa del Telshor, a two-story apartment complex at 1955 S. Telshor Blvd.
Firefighters arrived to find the rear, exterior balcony of a second-story apartment on fire. The occupants of the apartment self-evacuated and firefighters immediately attacked the fire.
Firefighters had the fire contained by about 3:45 p.m. No injuries were reported and the fire was limited to the wooden balcony of the second-floor apartment.
The apartment was likely exposed to some smoke and water damage during the operation.
The cause of the fire and damage estimates are not yet known.
