After several days of ballot counting, Alexis Johnson today was declared the winner in the Republican 3rd Congressional District Primary race. The announcement comes after a delay so thousands of absentee votes could be counted.

Johnson won the nomination with 37% of the vote. Harry Montoya took 35% and Karen Bedonie got 28%.
Here is a statement from the Republican Party of New Mexico (RPNM):

RPNM wants to congratulate Johnson for her victory and Montoya and Bedonie for running a strong race.

Michelle Garcia Holmes and Yvette Herrell won their respective Congressional primaries on Tuesday.

“We now have a strong slate of Congressional nominees who are driven, enthusiastic and ready to represent New Mexico’s traditional values in Washington,” said Republican Party of New Mexico Chairman Steve Pearce. “We need to stop the progressive agenda in our Washington delegation and do what’s right and helpful for New Mexicans here at home.”
