Las Cruces, NM – On this edition of PUENTES a la comunidad, bridges to the community, host Emily Guerra met with Sylvia Galvan de Lucero, Board Member of New Mexico Advocates for the Arts, to talk to us about the 26th Annual Las Cruces International Mariachi Conference, November 6-10, focusing on education and entertainment. The student workshops - mariachi music, voice and folkloric dance - will begin on Wednesday, November 6th at New Mexico State University’s Corbett Center.
Amador LIVE! will host the Spectacular Concert on Friday, November 8th beginning at 7 p.m. – featuring Mariachi Angeles de Pepe Martinez Jr.; and the Student Showcase Concert and Finale on Saturday, November 9th at Noon – featuring student performers and conference participants. Both concerts will be at the Amador’s outdoor stage, 302 S. Main Street in Las Cruces. This year the traditional Mariachi Mass will be held at 9 a.m. on Sunday, November 10th at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, 1240 S. Espina Street.
