Gallery 925 presents their annual Printmaking Show featuring printmakers from around New Mexico and El Paso. Printmaking techniques include photogravure, woodcuts, etchings, linocuts and gel printing. The show runs for the month of May with different print demos throughout the month. The reception for the show is on May 3rd from 4-7 pm and normal hours at the gallery to view the show are Fridays 1-5 and Saturdays/Sundays 11-5. Gallery 925 will also be celebrating International Print Day in May on Saturday, May 4th with print giveaways and a photogravure print demo.
Meet woodworking artist Rick O'Ryan at the Grant County Art Guild Gallery, Friday May 3, from 5-7pm. O’Ryan will be on site to discuss the artistic and technical processes of his work, including working with pinecones and creating reproduction fire hydrants. Examples will range from raw materials to finished work. Refreshments will be served. This Meet the Artist event is part of the Silver City Art Association First Fridays at the Galleries, which is held on the first Friday of every month. During First Fridays galleries extend their hours for exhibitions, demonstrations, art talks and other art events. For a map of participating galleries see silvercityart.com.
The Aldo Leopold Charter School Spring Visual Art Show will open May 3rd at 5pm, located at the Javalina Coffee House, in downtown Silver City.
The show will be up until May 20th, 2024.
The show is a collection of middle and high school art created over the Spring semester. Please come on by to support our community's youth artists.

The Border Justice Project (BJP) provides shelter, food, clothing, toys, medicine, and care for thousands of migrants in Deming, NM, and Palomas (Chih.), Mexico.
This volunteer group accepts donations and monetary support from individuals and is grateful for the donation of this beautiful pottery.

Amongst the political turmoil of the 1970s, her sympathy towards the IRA's conflict evolves into radicalization, culminating in an armed raid on an Irish estate with three comrades. However, when her simple heist takes a violent turn, is Rose prepared to face the devastating consequences?
