Dark Skies: Rare Phenomena in America's Public Lands

Join the Astronomy Department in celebrating International Dark Skies Week! On April 17th, 2026 at 7:00pm in O'Donnell Hall 111, we will join in a webinar titled "Dark Skies: Rare Phenomena in America's Pubilc Lands."

Afterwards, at ~8:00pm, we will then head over to Tombaugh Campus Observatory to have a public Open House! Assisted by NMSU Astronomy Faculty, Staff, and Graduate Students. Astronomical viewing is dependent on weather. This event will last no later than 9:30pm.

Due to the construction on Williams Street, to get to Tombaugh, you'll have to use the entrence to Parking Lot 48 on Stewart Street (across from the AHWC). Then drive south through the parking lot to get to Tombaugh.

If you would like to enjoy the webinar in the comfort of your own home, deatils can be found here -> https://nmwild.org/event/webinar-dark-skies-rare-phenomena-in-americas-public-lands/
