Ceramics and Culture: A Window into Casas Grandes
The NMSU University Museum will host a grand opening event for the new exhibit "Ceramics and Culture: a Window into Casas Grandes" on April 17th, 2025, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. The exhibit will feature pottery recovered from Medio period archeological sites in Northwestern Chihuahua, Mexico. Visitors will learn about the complex architecture, agriculture, and ritual of the early people of this region through ceramics from the collection of the University Museum. The exhibit is launched by the students of the Museum Field Methods class under the direction of curator Dr. Heather Para and will be open to the public after the grand opening event Tuesday through Saturday from 12:00pm to 4:00pm.
