County: Avoid Unincorporated Area Devastated By Flooding

Doña Ana County advises everyone to avoid Koogle Road, between Tierra Vista Road and Alvarez Road, south of Macarena Ave.

Primarily a residential area, with approximately 50 homes, it is experiencing heavy flooding and infrastructure challenges. People who live in that area are advised to consider their safety first and decide whether to leave or stay.  All others are advised to avoid the area to support law enforcement and emergency management activities.

Firefighters and law enforcement officers and others are addressing infrastructure compromises and working on different events in that area.

Anyone who needs immediate assistance should call 9-1-1.

1. A MANDATORY EVACUATION has been issued for the following areas: Paloma, Alvarez, Golondrinas, Salome, Hernandez and El Chava Lane.

2. Evacuation site: Anthony Elementary: 600 N 4th St, Anthony, NM 88021
