MountainView Regional Medical Center Strengthens Restrictions to Visitation Policy

We’re asking for the community’s help in maintaining the safety of our patients, visitors and our healthcare team members. When in the hospital for treatment, the best interest of our patients and healthcare providers is to minimize unnecessary exposure to infectious or communicable diseases.

In further response to the COVID-19 outbreak MountainView Regional Medical Center is implementing tighter restrictions on hospital visitation effective at 0800 a.m. on Wednesday, March 25, 2020. This action is necessary to reduce the risk of Coronavirus being spread to patients and staff.

Beginning at that time, MountainView Regional Medical Center will eliminate all visitors, vendors and contractors unless specifically allowed under the exceptions below. Please note that we are eliminating all visitors for patients who are in isolation. We are continuing our elimination of visitors into our Oncology Infusion, and Dialysis Areas.

The only visitors allowed are as follows:

  • -  Delivery of critical mission essential supplies or services
  • -  One designated visitor for patients requiring surgery or other emergency or trauma related medical procedures
  • -  One designated visitor for patients in Labor and Delivery as well as Post-Partum
  • -  One designated visitor for patients in NICU
  • -  *The designated visitor shall be named at the time the patient is admitted

Designated visitors will not be allowed in the hospital lobby or waiting rooms.

Exceptions based upon end of life, or special circumstance, will be evaluated on a case by case basis by the clinical leadership team.

Designated visitors must be well and over the age of 18. If someone has traveled from a high-risk area for COVID-19, had contact with a person known to be infected with COVID-19, or has a cough, fever or difficulty breathing, they will not be allowed to enter the hospital unless seeking medical care themselves.

Visitation hours are now from 12:00 noon to 8:00 pm. Weekday entry will be thru the Main Entry lobby. Weekend entry will be thru the Emergency Department.

All designated visitors are expected to practice infection prevention.

  • ·  Sanitize hands when entering the hospital and when entering or exiting patient rooms.
  • ·  Cover coughs or sneezes with elbow or a tissue and dispose of used tissues in the trash.
  • ·  Sanitize hands after coughing or sneezing.

Staying in touch with family members is important and we encourage you to use phone, email, text, Skype and Facebook.

This is an extraordinary time and we appreciate your understanding and compliance.
