A Monday morning commercial structure fire at a Las Cruces restaurant caused significant damage to the interior of the building but no injuries were reported.
The fire, at the Church’s Chicken restaurant, 300 E. Lohman Ave., was reported about 5:30 a.m. on Monday, March 9. Witnesses indicated seeing flames inside the building.
Las Cruces firefighters arrived, forced entry into the building and had the fire contained within seven minutes. The fire was contained to the kitchen area of the restaurant where it caused significant damage. Smoke and water also damaged the interior of the restaurant. No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation and damage estimates have yet to be determined.
