Las Cruces Woman Charged With Breaking And Entering Home

Police arrested a Las Cruces woman suspected of breaking into a home on Boston Drive Tuesday morning.

Alaynah Trinks, 27, of the 1500 block of Organ Avenue, is charged with a fourth-degree felony count of breaking and entering, and a misdemeanor count of concealing identity.

Shortly after 8 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12, Las Cruces Police were dispatched to a reported breaking and entering on the 1800 block of Boston Drive. Officers learned that a caretaker of the property found a woman inside the home, called police and followed the woman as she left on foot.

Officers located the woman on Corbett Drive but she initially gave officers a fictitious name and date of birth. She was subsequently identified as Trinks.

Investigators learned that the residence had a broken window and that Trinks was seen inside one of the bedrooms.

Trinks was booked into the Dona Ana County Detention Center where she was initially being held without bond.
