Las Cruces Police Arrest Man Suspected in Child Pornography Case

Police have arrested a Las Cruces man suspected of manufacturing, distributing and possessing child pornography.

Larry A. Hawke, 59, of the 300 block of east Organ Avenue, is charged with three counts of sexual exploitation of children – one count each for manufacturing, distribution and possession of child pornography.

Las Cruces Police investigators learned that a special agent with the New Mexico Attorney General’s Office, working in November 2016 with the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, came across information that indicated Hawke was possibly viewing, downloading and sharing child pornography.

Investigators executed a search warrant at Hawke’s residence on the morning of Wednesday, June 7. Investigators learned that Hawke is the only one who resides at the residence and the only one who knows the password to access the computer that was used.

Additional charges against Hawke are possible.

Hawke was arrested Thursday morning and booked into the Dona Ana County Detention Center where he’s initially being held without bond.
