On Saturday, May 6th, the Grant County Community Foundation is sponsoring a twenty-four-hour community giving marathon, Give Grandly! Give Local!, to support 50+ non-profit organizations, banded together as the Southwest New Mexico Non-Profit Coalition, serving Grant, Luna, Catron and Hidalgo counties. These diverse non-profits cover important gaps in governmental or private sector programs, including health and human services, literacy and work skills, arts and cultural activities, environmental advocacy and animal welfare. Whatever cause you care most about, May 6th is the best day of the year to give back to the community.
Give Grandly’s non-profit fair will be held on 7th Street, next to the Silver City Farmers’ Market on Saturday, May 6, from 8:30 a.m.- 2:00 p.m. Participating non-profits will have tables with staff or volunteers to highlight their work on behalf of southwest New Mexico, accept cash and check donations, and answer questions. There will be musical entertainment, and refreshments will be available. Computers will be set up at the fair for donors to make their tax-deductible donations to their favorite projects or to the Grant County Community Foundation at large.
And anyone anywhere will be able to donate online at www.givegrandly.org - texting to 41444 and typing in “grandly” - anytime between 12:01 am and 11:59 pm on May 6.
Everyone can be a philanthropist, no matter how small the contribution. We all benefit from the many important services that our area non-profits provide.
