An Albuquerque man has pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm and could face up to 10 years in federal prison.
Prosecutors say 42-year-old Charles Hodge entered his plea Monday.
Hodge was arrested last month on a criminal complaint of unlawfully possessing a firearm and ammunition in October in Bernalillo County.
Law enforcement officers conducted a traffic stop on Hodge's vehicle because of an expired registration tag.
During the stop, the officers learned Hodge didn't have a valid driver's license or insurance and told him they'd have to impound the vehicle.
Hodge told officers he had a firearm and ammunition in the vehicle and a loaded pistol was found in the center console.
Hodge was prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition because of previous felony convictions.
