LAS CRUCES – Current 8th-grade students who are interested in attending Arrowhead Park Early College High School (APECHS) or Arrowhead Park Medical Academy (APMA) next school year must submit an application before February 16, 2016. Applications are available through LCPS middle school counselors or online at http://apechs.lcps.k12.nm.us.
Arrowhead Park offers a variety of pathways in Science, Technology, Mathematics and Engineering (STEM) and Medical programs.
“Both schools require college-level coursework and we want to ensure that both the student and the parents understand what’s required to be successful in an early college setting,” Silver said. “Students don’t have to be a straight-A student to attend, but they do need to commit to a school environment where academics are always the forefront of their daily routine.”
APECHS has over 450 students, 9th-through-12th-grades, while the Medical Academy is expected to grow to approximately 175 students next year and will have freshmen through juniors. Both schools, adjacent to one another, are located at 3600 Arrowhead Park Drive on the campus of New Mexico State University.
