El Paso Chihuahuas Home Opener Sells Out In One Hour

  EL PASO – Reserved seats for the Chihuahuas 2015 Opening Day sold out in one hour.  Individual seats, which went on sale to the general public on Saturday, are no longer available for the home opener.  Standing room only tickets are still available.

The Chihuahuas open the 2015 season on April 9th versus the Tacoma Rainiers, the start of an eight-game homestand.

“Once again the people of El Paso and the surrounding region have responded in grand fashion and the 2015 season is off to a great start,” said Chihuahuas general manager, Brad Taylor.

Tickets remain on sale for the team’s first 2015 homestand which includes Fetch the Fun Friday, Fireworks Spectacular Saturday (themed to 80’s music) and Kid’s Day Sunday where kids 12 and under can run the bases post-game, presented by Sierra Providence Health Network. 

The homestand features magnet schedule giveaways on April 10th, April 15th and April 16th, fans featuring Chico’s face for kids 12 and under on Sunday, April 11thand drawstring bags in honor of Baseball In Education during Tuesday’s day game (11:05 a.m. first pitch).

Beginning February 16th, the Durango Box Office, as well as the Chihuahuas Team Shop, will be openMonday-Friday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Saturday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. through Opening Day. The Santa Fe Box Office is currently closed. Individual game tickets are also available at epchihuahuas.com.

Tickets are available starting at $5. Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance as nearly 75% of Chihuahuas games in 2014 were sold out. Purchasers who buy in advance will enjoy a savings ranging from $2.00 - $3.00 per ticket on reserved seating versus purchasing on the day of the game. A $1.50 per ticket convenience fee will be applied to all online purchases.
