Digital Wall Debuts At El Paso Museum

The El Paso Museum of History has given visitors a high-tech way to remember the past.

A new so-called Digital Wall provides an electronic method to view the history of the West Texas city.

The Digital Information Gateway, called Digie (DIJ'-ee), opened Saturday. The wall is made up of five massive touch screens.

The wall includes a 3-D cityscape with the history of El Paso from the late 1600s. Visitors can touch a spot on a screen to get additional information about specific pictures, buildings or other items.

Viewers are also invited to add their own comments to existing photographs.

Curator Everett Thomas says the site already has more than 6,000 photos, with guests expected to add many more.
