Albuquerque Police: Robbers Target Older Residents

Albuquerque police say there have been several attempted or completed home invasion robberies targeting older residents and that investigators believe the same two men may be responsible.

All three incidents happened in the area of Chelwood Park Boulevard and Indian School Road in northeastern Albuquerque.

The first case occurred Oct. 1 when an 80-year-old woman refused to open her door to two men who said they were there to help her move. The second occurred the same day when two men ransacked a 74-year-old woman's home and stole her car.

Another home invasion took place Tuesday when a woman was followed into her garage and forced inside her home at gunpoint.

Police describe the two suspects as slender-build Hispanic men in their 20s and 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-9 in height.
