Plans Underway To Rebuild Part Of Country Club Road In Deming

 

Deming – The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) and the City of Deming have partnered together in order to established a method to reconstruction a portion of Country Club Road. Sandoval Construction will be working with the City of Deming as roadway rehabilitation repairs are made to secure a safe passage for the traveling public.  

Sandoval Construction and their contractors have begun work and are scheduled to be complete within three weeks; however, the contractor is anticipating on completing this project on or before Friday June 29th. The scope of work will consist of cold-milling asphalt, crack sealing, HMA pavement overlay, pavement striping and all associated traffic control from Pine Street to Florida Street.

This project is primarily supported through federal funding, as the City was able to combine two project awards from the NMDOT to complete the pavement work onCountry Club Road. The funding was appropriated through the Municipal Arterial Program and the Local Government Road Fund.

Mayor Andres Silva stated “the City is grateful to received funding through the New Mexico Department of Transportation which will enhance the road condition as the community of Deming continues to grow. The NMDOT and the City have been partners in other projects that have benefited the citizens within Deming.”

The NMDOT understands that this section of roadway is a major intersection for Deming which feeds in to the city, businesses and residents. The NMDOT has met with the City and the contractor to ensure that detours and notifications are posted adequately to minimize delays with traffic during working hours.
