SUNLAND PARK, N.M. (AP) — Secretary of State Dianna Duran is in Sunland Park Tuesday to investigate voter complaints ahead of the city's municipal election.
In addition to a complaint filed in mid-February about a lack of absentee voting applications, Duran says she's received "a number of complaints" about the municipal election.
Duran tells the Las Cruces Sun-News (http://bit.ly/wxdjvm ) she is concerned about the election and plans to investigate.
Duran added the March 6 election will go forward despite the turmoil within Sunland Park city government which led to the recent arrests of the mayor pro tem and the city manager.
Duran says her office doesn't have the authority to call off the election.
