Las Cruces Accident Reports Online

By KRWG News

Las Cruces – The Las Cruces Police Department is reminding residents that traffic crash, or accident, reports can easily be obtained over the Internet at www.CLCPD.com.

Since February 2008 LCPD has made accident reports available online for $3 each. The service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In 2008, 3,207 accident reports were obtained online. In 2009 the number of reports obtained online increased to 6,317.

In January 2008 LCPD contracted with PoliceReports.us to make accident reports available to the public. Accident reports are still available directly from the Records Division at the Las Cruces Police Department. The office is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Obtaining a traffic accident report online is relatively easy. From the Las Cruces Police Department's Web site, www.CLCPD.com, simply click on the "Online Traffic Accident Reports" link. The reports can be located using the report number, the date of the accident, the street location of the accident, or by the name of one of the drivers involved in the accident.

Online reports cost $3 each and can be paid for securely with most major credit cards. PoliceReports.us also accepts prepaid accounts for access to the site. Traffic accident reports obtained directly from the Las Cruces Police Department are $2 each.

For more information or assistance with obtaining an accident report online or in person, contact the Las Cruces Police Department's Records Section at (575) 528-4137.
