Las Cruces, NM – On this edition of PUENTES a la comunidad, Bridges to the community, host Emily Guerra spoke with Sophia Sepp, Program Manager for CICW-The Center on Immigration and Child Welfare Initiative. She is also Program Manager for NMSU’s School of Social Work at the College of Health, Education, & Social Transformation. The CICW promotes the welfare of children of immigrants and their families through original research, resource development and distribution, training and technical assistance, and national leadership, including the sponsoring of cross-sector conferences, professional networks, and advocacy. CICW also advocates humane policies and protections for children and families impacted by immigration investigations, arrests, and detention. The effects of separating families need to be considered in planning and providing services to families with mixed immigration statuses.
