Las Cruces, NM – On this edition of PUENTES a la comunidad, bridges to the community, host Emily Guerra spoke with Las Cruces Public Schools Superintendent Karen Trujillo about reopening on August 12th with guidelines from the New Mexico Public Education Department. Schools will be required to start the year in a hybrid learning model with attendance at a maximum 50% classroom capacity.
Trujillo said the re-entry plan has been with the help of a “Re-entry Task Force” with seven (7) subcommittees: Athletics; Community Engagement; Health and Safety; Instruction; Operations; Student Support Services; and Technology.
