Las Cruces Library Presents "Dispelling Vaccine Myths"

  As part of its health literacy initiative, Thomas Branigan Memorial Library presents “Dispelling Vaccine Myths” with guest presenters Renée Despres PhD, MPH and Anne Barraza, M.Ln at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 7 via Zoom. Dr. Despres is an independent journalist who has written extensively about health for print and online publications. She is an adjunct professor in the English and Public Health Sciences Departments at New Mexico State University. Ms. Barranza is a public health consultant who has worked for many years in public health emergency preparedness and health policy at the New Mexico Department of Health.

Participants will learn about common vaccine myths with a focus on the new COVID-19 vaccines, ways that vaccine myth can spread, and suggestions on how to counter that spread. Accurate resources on vaccines, and the tools to evaluate additional resources on your own, will also be provided. A question-and-answer session will be held at the end of the discussion.
