Find your Future with Las Cruces Utilities at Upcoming Job Fair

If it’s time for you to start your career or make a career change, and if you want to invest in your future, consider visiting the Las Cruces Utilities (LCU) booth at the New Mexico Workforce Connection Job Fair on Wednesday October 16th from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Las Cruces Convention Center (680 E. University Avenue).

“Las Cruces is a growing city and our workforce needs to keep up with the demand,” said Jorge A. Garcia, Ph.D., P.E., LCU director. “All levels of education and experience are welcome and LCU is hiring now.”

The LCU is building its workforce by offering good pay, great benefits, and even on-the-job training to men, women, and students. People of all educational and experience levels are invited to apply for jobs in all areas of: Gas, Water, Wastewater, Solid Waste, and Support Services.

LCU Deputy Directors from several Lines of Business will be at the Job Fair specifically to give guidance on how to apply, and more importantly, to point out the benefits of starting a career with Utilities. Learn about water production, natural gas delivery, solid waste, and wastewater disposal, all Lines of Business have jobs to fill – now! These jobs come with great benefits and skilled and friendly coworkers.

Thinking about college but don’t know what to do or how to pay for it? At the Job Fair, you can also learn about the LCU Internship Program with the Water Technology degree at Doña Ana Community College. LCU will pay for you to earn your degree, with a commitment of a job at LCU while you learn and after you finish.

If you’re someone who enjoys chemistry or biology perhaps there’s a home for you at the new Water Quality Laboratory - maintaining the safety of our water supply for your family and your neighbors. Perhaps you enjoy hands-on work like welding or plumbing and finding a solution for a broken pipe to restore water to businesses and residents. Perhaps you work well with people and want to help those who need assistance paying their bills. From technical to support staff, there are many roles to fill in Utilities; learn yours at the October 16th Job Fair.
