Doña Ana County Clerk’s Office receives over $206,000 in Grant Funding for Election Administration

LAS CRUCES – The Center for Tech and Civic Life, a nonpartisan organization that provides technical assistance to election administrators across the country, granted $206,925.00 to the Doña Ana County Clerk’s Office to support election administration. The Doña Ana County Board of County Commissioners officially accepted the funds during its meeting on Tuesday.

“This is an historic election for many reasons,” said Chief Deputy Clerk Lindsey Bachman. “These funds will help us have the resources we need to run a secure, efficient, and accessible election during this incredible time.”

The grant is intended to supplement existing public funding, and funds can be used for a variety of purposes including defraying the costs of early voting locations, providing PPE for poll workers, increasing poll worker stipends or providing hazard pay, absentee ballot drop boxes, covering the cost of postage or printing, equipment purchases, and upgrades, communications efforts to explain to residents about options for voting, and more.
