DAAC Arts & Cultural Center Now Open to Visitors - Wear a Mask

Las Cruces, NM – On this edition of PUENTES a la comunidad, bridges to the community, host Emily Guerra spoke with Doña Ana Arts Council (DAAC) Executive Director, Gregory Z. Smith, about their adjustments with our current global pandemic. Many classes, presentations, and seminars are now on ZOOM.

A new “Virtual Gallery” is available on the DAAC website “Metaphor for a Virus, Response to the Current Global Pandemic.” Also online is “Feed Your Mind” art history seminars with Kathleen Key; and “Gardens of the World” with Nicholas Dahle. All at no charge to students – a gift from DAAC during COVID-19.

Summer Art Camps for 2020 for K – 12 students in visual and performing arts will be presented via ZOOM. Regretfully the Missoula Children’s Theatre (MCT) and Opera Storytellers Camp have been cancelled. DAAC will be offering a modified version of Career Art Path – Session 1: July 6-10; Session 2: July 13-17; contact Karen Conley at (575) 523-6403 or email manager@daarts.org for more information.

New Gallery exhibit for artists: Mark Morden, Storm Sermay, & Silvia Sierra. Visitors can now come in and view the exhibit at the DAAC Arts & Cultural Center, 1740 Calle de Mercado in Mesilla; open Monday – Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., ALL visitors are encouraged to wear a mask.
