Las Cruces, NM – On this edition of PUENTES a la comunidad, bridges to the community, host Emily Guerra spoke to Animal Services Center of the Mesilla Valley (ASCMV) Executive Director, Clint Thacker. Construction on the ASCMV new Adoption Center at 3551 Bataan Memorial West, Las Cruces, NM 88012 and the Rinconada Dog Park began in June 2021.
The project is part of one of the City of Las Cruces General Obligation (GO) Bond Projects. It will be located next to the existing ASCMV Animal Service Center and includes the Main Adoption Center, and four Dog Pods to enhance the operational needs of the ASCMV. The Rinconada Dog Park will be located within the existing Burn Lake Park, southeast of the existing soccer fields. As construction activity progresses, they anticipate there will be added traffic on Rinconada Blvd. and Bataan Memorial West. Completion of the project is set for Fall of 2022.
