Silver City has been designated as a Gateway City to the Continental Divide Trail. On April 10th through April 12 Friday-Sunday, the Continental Divide Trail Coalition (CDTC) is inviting the public to participate in a number of activities to introduce, explore and discover the Continental Divide Trail and the Town of Silver City. Combined with the Trail Days Trail Head and Base Camp, a multiple of outdoor activities and seminars will take place to educate and expose community members, CDT enthusiasts and the general public to the CDT.
On April 10th Little Toad Creek Brewerey and Distillery will have giveaways and raffles.
On April 11th Gear Expos and Organization Showcase will take place along with open days at downtown art galleries and a tour of the Big Ditch Trail which runs through the former Main Street of Silver City. During the evening, the Big Ditch Cricket Dance takes place from 7-10 PM at the Ole Elks Lodge on Texas Street.
On April 12th the CDT Trail Adopter Day and self guided excursion will occur.
