Learn the ancient and noble art of charming worms with Reverend Gary Kowalski and worm composter Sara Thomas as we attempt to lure these humble invertebrates from the burrows to celebrate spring. Please bring a tomato stake, pitchfork, short length of rebar or similar tine to insert into the ground, along with a handsaw, wood rasp, violin bow or other implement to induce vibrations in the soil. Drums, chimes, gongs, harmonicas and other musical instruments have also been known to charm worms. Sara will have free samples of red wrigglers on hand as Reverend Kowalski shares fun facts about these creatures whom Charles Darwin considered the most important animals on earth. All ages welcome.
