The Museum ROCKS! Gem and Mineral Show
The Museum ROCKS! Gem and Mineral Show is returning to Las Cruces for its eleventh year, with 75 vendors displaying gems, rock and mineral samples, and jewelry as they showcase outstanding examples of fossils, minerals in the wild, gemstones and jewelry from around the world.
The event, on Saturday, February 17, and Sunday, February 18, will be held, as it is every year, at the New Mexico Farm and Ranch Heritage Museum, with ample parking and exhibit space to enjoy the lapidary delights.
Hosted by the Friends of the Museum and sponsored by Las Cruces photographer and rockhound Frank Parrish, one of the founders of the event, the event brings together fans of geology, paleontology, lapidary, and antique and modern jewelry design and production to buy, barter and trade everything from highly worked gems to samples displayed as nature presented them.
The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 16, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 17. Admission is regular Museum admission ($7 for adults, $6 for senior citizens, $5 for children 4 to 17, and free for children 3 and under.)
