Join us for the inaugural Southwest Essentially Ellington Jazz Festival! After a working with high school and middle school jazz bands all day, guest artists from the Jazz at Lincoln Center organization and the NMSU Jazz Ensembles will present a culminating concert. Guests artists are Jerome Jennings, a jazz drummer, activist, and historian who teaches at the Julliard school, and David Lown, one of the foremost jazz educators based out of Dallas, will be joining the NMSU Jazz Ensemble for a program of Duke Ellington classics and thrilling contemporary music.
