New Mexico State University Cambios Speaker Series
Wed., Feb. 12:
The New Mexico State University Cambios lecture series features writer Dr. John Fleck discussing how New Mexicans can negotiate an era of increasing competition for shrinking water resources.
Fleck’s talk, “Less Water: What do we do?” will start at 7 p.m. at the Rio Grande Theatre.
Fleck, a former journalist with the Albuquerque Journal, is writer-in-residence at the University of New Mexico School of Law’s Utton Center and professor of Practice in Water Policy and Governance at the UNM Department of Economics. Fleck is the author of "Water is for Fighting Over and Other Myths about the West" (2016) and co-author of "Science Be Damned: How Ignoring Inconvenient Science Drained the Colorado River" (2019).
Fleck will discuss how communities across the West can not only survive but thrive in a future of competing demands for precious water resources.
