Beginner Adult Quail Hunting Camp
Beginner Adult Quail Hunting Camp
Never been hunting before? Want to try something new? The Department of Game and Fish is partnering with the Safari Club International Foundation for a beginner adult quail hunting camp to help you get started!
The camp is scheduled to take place Nov. 21-23 at Rockhound State Park in Deming, and instruction, gear and meals will be provided. The camp is open to adults age 18 and older with little or no hunting experience, as well as those who have never hunted quail before. Participants will learn about how to identify quail, rules and regulations, hunter safety, clay target shooting, quail hunting techniques and how to field dress quail.
Registration begins at 8:00 am on Nov. 3. Registration will remain open until the camp is full. Please do not register if you have attended this camp in previous years.
Campers will need to provide their own hunting licenses, a tent or wheeled camper, a sleeping bag and sleeping pad. They are also encouraged to bring their own shotgun (12- or 20-gauge). Registrants will be emailed a link for a mandatory Zoom orientation that will take place Nov. 17 at 6 p.m.
