The Artists:

Habaneros: October 2, 2014

Habaneros has been formed from the ranks of the National Symphony Orchestra of Cuba.  Award-winning instrumentalistsAlden Ortuño Cabezas (clarinet), Carlos Suárez Morejón, Julio César García Domínguez (violins), Idalmis Ulloa Besada (viola) and Suaima Ramos Torres (cello) have each enjoyed tremendous success in addition to their prestigious appointment with Cuba’s leading orchestra.  Members have performed as soloists, in chamber ensembles and with orchestras in Russia, Switzerland, France, Spain, North America and across Central and South America.  In addition to their performance achievements Habaneros members are active as teachers and composers, and venture beyond traditional boundaries into salsa music and instrument-making.  The 2014-2015 concert season marks the American debut for Habaneros.  Follow this link to view a video featuring Habaneros.

Redhead Express: November 18, 2014

The Redhead Express first developed their stage identity as a family band, performing with their parents and three brothers.   “The Walker Family” created a national fan base through their relentless touring and award-winning residencies in Branson, Missouri. Currently based in Nashville, the family originally launched their musical exploits from Alaska.  Redhead Express – Kendra, LaRae, Alisa and Meghan – are now performing as a quartet.   Their budding recording career is unfolding under the tutelage of Nashville super-producer Paul Worley (Lady Antebellum, Martina McBride).  Their bluegrass-tinged pop reflects their grassroots upbringing and practical sensibilities as sibling performers; it also happens to be the new wave of popular music.  The band is a self-contained unit; each sister is a vocalist and instrumentalist performing on guitar, banjo/dobro, fiddle and bass.   Follow this link to view a video featuring Redhead Express.

Kaori Fujii and Eric Cecil: January 27, 2015

Kaori Fujii stormed the classical world as a youth, winning prestigious competitions in Japan, Spain and Germany. Fujii has performed around the world in high-profile appearances including concerts with Ennio Morricone (composer/conductor), and the Vienna String Trio; and in leading concert halls such as the Kennedy Center (Washington, D.C.) and the Teresa Carreño Theater (Venezuela). She has recorded six albums with JVC Entertainment.   Eric Cecil began his musical life as a gifted contemporary-music guitarist.  His subsequent discovery of classical music has become his primary pursuit.  Cecil concertizes as a soloist and s a duo with Ms. Fujii.  Recordings created for Gibson Guitar Studios have been featured in the “International Who’s Who of Music” in the fields of blues, rock and jazz. Follow this link to view a video featuring Kaori Fujii and Eric Cecil

The Kat Trio: March 19, 2015

The Kat Trio was originally known as the Ekaterinburg Classical Trio.  Musicians Vasil Galiulin, Victoria Gorbich and Vladislav Gorbich, all graduates of the Ural State Conservatory, formed the trio in Ekaterinburg, Russia during the summer of 1998.  They shared a common desire to perform and share their passion for this unusual instrumentation.  Performances during that formational summer were enthusiastically received, and the ensemble was born.  The Trio embarked on their first United States tour in 2000.  Victoria and Vladislav, husband and wife, returned to the U.S. for post-graduate studies at Arizona State University, with additional national tours in 2006 and 2010.  In 2011-2012 the Trio toured as Artists-in-Residence for Wisconsin Public Radio.  The Kat Trio has created a signature repertoire drawing from their classical music background, and lending their Slavic sensibilities to unique arrangements of inspirational songs and American popular standards.  The Gorbich’s have collaborated with an esteemed list of pianists over the last decade.  Pianist Joseph Ross will be performing with the Trio during this tour.  Follow this link to view a video featuring the Kat Trio.
