DPNM Executive Director Serving as Western VP-Association of State Democratic Executive Directors

DPNM Executive Director Joe Kabourek

Democratic Party of New Mexico Executive Director Joe Kabourek is currently serving as the Association of State Democratic Executive Directors (ASDED) Western Vice President. ASDED is an organization that focuses exclusively on the current and future needs of State Democratic Parties. Kabourek will represent Western State Democratic Parties at quarterly meetings with the Democratic National Committee (DNC) to advocate for resources and ensure local Democratic Parties get the support they need from the national organization.

“Western states have very different needs than those of the more urban east coast. New Mexico, in particular, is very rural and has resilient diverse and traditional communities — all of those features require different resources. I ran for this leadership position because it’s important that New Mexico has a seat at the table so that we can be the most effective organization possible,” said DPNM Executive Director Joe Kabourek.

Kabourek was elected at the Winter Association of State Democratic Chairs' meeting in January and has since taken a leadership role in organizing Democratic State Party Executive Directors to assess the needs for the 2018 campaign and make clear asks to the DNC. The ASDED is comprised of all Democratic Executive Directors from the 50 states, as well as American Samoa, District of Columbia, Democrats Abroad, Guam, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the Northern Mariana Islands and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
