The popular Passport Acceptance Facility at New Mexico State University is moving to a new location.
Beginning July 10, the facility will be open to the public in Room 152 of Breland Hall, which is located at the corner of Stewart Street and Breland Drive on campus. The facility, which first opened in 2016, will continue to be operated by the Office of International and Border Programs.
Facility hours are 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday. On July 12, the facility will host a grand opening at their new location and offer passport and visa photos for $5. Passport and visa photos are normally $10. The facility will also host a passport fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 22.
Passport applicants must be present at the office when applying. Applicants must also provide:
— Proof of U.S. citizenship (original copies of birth certificate, previous U.S. passport or naturalization certificate).
— Proof of identity (government-issued photo I.D. card, such as a driver’s license or U.S. passport).
— If applicant is a minor, both parents must accompany the minor and provide proof of identity for each parent.
The facility at NMSU is a “one-stop shop” for those applying for or renewing passports. Customers will be able to have their passport photos taken on site, and can also get information on the types of passports available.
