The Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Department will be applying for federal funds through the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program and will be accepting recommendations from the public as part of the application process.
The JAG Program provides funding to support law enforcement in technical support, strategic planning, research and evaluation, data collection, training, equipment, forensic laboratories and criminal justice information systems.
The grant requires that anyone in Doña Ana County who wishes to give recommendations on the use of the funds has the opportunity to do so. The deadline to give input is on or before Wednesday, Oct.11, 2014. The public is also invited to attend the regularly-scheduled meeting of the Board of County Commissioners at 9 a.m. on Oct. 14, 2015 where the board is scheduled to accept the funding
For input on the JAG Program, call the Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Department grants coordinator, Angie Guerrero, (575) 525-1911.
