Shelter Hopes To Find Owner Of Injured Dog

An injured German shepherd that came to the Animal Services Center of the Mesilla Valley Friday evening has microchip information, but shelter officials are still having a hard time locating the dog’s owner(s).

The male dog, which appears to be approximately 10 years old, had apparently been hit by a car. While assessing the dog, shelter staff located a microchip, but the information contained in the microchip reportedly linked the dog to the Netherlands and did not contain any current contact information.

Anyone with information on the dog is asked to contact the Animal Services Center of the Mesilla Valley, (575) 382-0018. You can also visit the shelter during regular business hours at 3551 Bataan Memorial West in Las Cruces.
