A Farmington man's attempt to burn clumps of grass in his home's front yard produced results of an unwanted kind.
The Daily Times reports that the fire set by Wayne Hislop on Monday scorched the exterior of his family's rented home.
Pushed by wind, the fire spread quickly to the home because of small trees and shrubbery planted within inches of the exterior wall.
Hislop and his family used buckets and jugs of water to try to extinguish the flames, but firefighters quickly arrived and completed the job.
