The last of three suspects to be tried in the 2011 killing of a woman outside a busy Alamogordo Burger King has been found guilty of first-degree murder. A Lincoln County jury read the verdict against Alexias Torres on Friday.
Torres was also found guilty of one count each of conspiracy to commit murder, shooting at or from a motor vehicle, conspiracy to commit shooting at or from a motor vehicle and tampering with evidence.
She could face life in prison.
Prosecutors say Torres, Jonathan Montoya and Melissa Mathis shot 33-year-old Shavon Twitty on June 8, 2011 after Twitty broke up with Mathis.
Montoya was convicted last August and sentenced to life in prison.
Mathis is serving a 16-year sentence for her involvement
