A Las Cruces man suspected of trying to run over three employees of a local car dealership has been arrested.
Matthew Cardon, 31, is charged with three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The charges are fourth-degree felonies.
Las Cruces Police learned that on Friday, Nov. 15, Cardon drove his 2008 Pontiac G6 to the Jack Key automobile dealership at 1840 N. Main St. where he tried to provoke a fight with one of the employees.
After arguing with employees for a short while Cardon got into his vehicle and reversed at a high-rate of speed, nearly striking three employees.
Cardon then drove away but was located by Las Cruces Police as he walked back toward the Jack Key dealership. Cardon is being held at the Dona Ana County Detention Center with a cash-only bond set at $8,000.
