Woman Fatally Shot After Texas To New Mexico Chase

Authorities say a woman wanted on several felony warrants out of Texas and New Mexico is dead after a vehicle pursuit across state lines.

New Mexico State police say 35-year-old Amy Reyna was fatally shot Sunday near Hobbs after a chase that began in Denver City, Texas.

Denver City police and Yoakum County Sheriff's deputies were looking for Reyna and a deputy spotted her vehicle.

When the male driver pulled over and got out, authorities say Reyna jumped from the passenger's side to the driver's seat and drove off.

Two Texas officers began pursuing Reyna into New Mexico and the Lea County Sheriff's Department was called in to help.

Authorities say Reyna drove into a pasture off State Road 132 and stopped before officers fired. She died at the scene.
