NMSU Athletics Open Forum For Students And Faculty/Staff

The New Mexico State University Employee Council will host an open forum for faculty, staff and students from 3-4:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, in the College of Health and Social Services Annex, Room 101A. The forum will focus on NMSU Athletics and cover topics outlined in President Garrey Carruthers' Athletics Transition Team report, completed earlier this year.

"We hope this forum will continue the dialogue among NMSU's students, faculty and staff and the Athletics Department," said Shawna Arroyo, student relations manager and NMSU Employee Council co-chair elect. "The forum will cover the organizational, marketing and finance aspects of NMSU Athletics as researched by the transition team."

Carruthers will welcome participants and then turn the forum over to members of the Athletics Transition Team, including Brad Beasley, a Las Cruces businessman; Michael Clute, an NMSU Foundation emeritus board member; David McCollum, NMSU's deputy athletics director; Shari Jones, an Aggie alumnus; and Kevin Melendrez, an NMSU College of Business faculty member. Bill Harty, director of administrative system support and a member of the NMSU employee council, will moderate the discussion.

Questions may be submitted before the forum via email to empcouncil@nmsu.edu. Names do not need to be disclosed and all questions are welcome. The forum also will be webcast at http://panopto.nmsu.edu/Panopto/Pages/Viewer/Default.aspx?id=9d6c85b1-afbb-4836-9ad9-f307b0cdde83.
