Wanted Man Faces More Drug Charges

A Vado man who remains at large after being released at arraignment faces aggravated fleeing charges and additional drug trafficking charges after a grand jury returned indictments Thursday morning.

Victor Manual Carreon, 22, led Doña Ana County Sheriff’s deputies on a chase through the county and the city limits of Las Cruces on Dec. 30, 2012. He was arrested near Doña Ana County Magistrate Court and charged with aggravated fleeing and resisting arrest.

Upon arraignment, the judge released Carreon because certain court documents were misplaced at Magistrate Court and were not in his case file.

Carreon now faces one fourth-degree felony count of aggravated fleeing from a law enforcement officer and trafficking by possession with intent to distribute, a second-degree felony.

Carreon’s last known address is in the 100 block of Meyer Road in Vado. He weighs 140 pounds and is five feet, seven inches tall with black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information on Carreon’s whereabouts is asked to call police.
