SANTA FE, N.M. – Former state Public Regulation Commissioner Jerome Block Jr., who recently resigned after pleading guilty to felony charges, is in a Santa Fe jail again.
Santa Fe County jail records show that Block was booked at 12:11 p.m. Monday on a remand order, indicating he violated a condition of his release.
It is the second time Block has been jailed for violating a condition of his release.
Under a plea agreement with the attorney general's office, Block pleaded guilty in September to the fraudulent use of a state-issued gasoline card and other felonies.
If the 34-year-old from Espanola fails to complete a court-supervised drug treatment program, he potentially faces up to 4 1/2 years in prison.
